Post-Conference Special

Our April 2023 national conference, “Stronger Together: Uniting to Advance Change,” featured keynote speaker John Francis, who captivated our attendees with his message on the importance of kindness and compassion. 

As a post-conference special, CWLA is offering his picture book Human Kindness: True Stories of Compassion and Generosity that Changed the World. The joyous and awe-inspiring stories in this book will encourage young readers to be kind to others and delight readers of all ages.

John Francis, PhD, is an activist known for his efforts to raise awareness for environmental justice through his country- and continent-spanning walks and for taking a vow of silence that lasted for 17 years.
